Nautica New York City Triathlon

This morning, I woke up at 5 am to watch the Nautica New York City Triathlon. I'm so happy I did! I am in awe of the amazing athletes who swam, biked and ran through New York City this morning. I began watching the event in Riverside Park and followed it along 72nd Street and into Central Park as the triathletes made their way to the finish line.

For a few hours, I stood just meters from the finish line and watched the runners as they approached. I saw mothers scooping up their babies and running to finish. I watched families and friends proudly cheering on their loved ones with high fives, hugs, smiles and signs. I saw some pass by with incredible power and speed as others struggle but pushed on. I had chills. It was incredible and I am so inspired.

Of course, I brought my camera along to capture the experience. Enjoy the slideshow! (if you'd like to see a larger version, just click on the box with the four arrows in the lower right hand corner of the slidehow)

If you see yourself or someone you know, and would like me to send you the picture, please let me know!

Congratulations to all the triathletes who participated in this mornings race!

  1. This is awesome. A Triathlon is my next long term goal and right now I'm s-l-o-w-l-y amassing the info and the equipment needed to train. Its exponentially more expensive and more time consuming that distance running, but I've got the time on my side... great pics, seriously inspiring and glad you had a good time!
